Thieves Target Restaurant Toilets

ARLINGTON, Texas Investigators are trying to catch a pair of thieves who are stealing chrome toilet fixtures from the bathrooms of North Texas fast-food restaurants, NBC 5 reported.
Jack in the Box placed surveillance photos of the thieves on their doors and drive-through windows after four of their locations were hit in Arlington, Irving and Grand Prairie.
Investigators said surveillance photos from a Jack in the Box in Irving show the thieves in the men’s bathroom with a backpack used to carry tools and hide the fixtures.
“In this instance, the management realized that the theft had taken place when the bathroom flooded,” Arlington Police Department spokeswoman Christy Gilfour said. “Once they removed the flushing valves, there was a lot of water.”
Jack in the Box said even the toilet paper and metal from the hand dryer was stolen, and that the criminals are in and out of the bathrooms in just a few minutes.
“It seems to me that anyone that’s that good at plumbing ought to be able to get a job,” restaurant patron Justice Mouser said. “I mean any contractor that I’ve ever hired, it takes a lot longer to install something or uninstall it.”
Police said the thieves have also hit McDonald’s, Whataburger and Burger King. The thieves were spotted leaving the restaurants in a dark green Neon, police said.
Anyone with information about the thieves is asked to contact police.
